polework

Pole work exercises can offer a mental workout for a horse who has to think about the placement of its footfalls and use of its core without speed or strain on limbs. This is an inclusive session affording benefits to any horse and rider as pole work can be utilised in any gait.

LATERAL WORK

This session is open to all and is designed to introduce or develop a rider’s understanding of lateral movements and how they can be used to supple up a horse and improve its performance.

FLAT WORK

Friendly and open sessions which anyone can join to work on the scales of training: Rhythm, Suppleness, Contact, Impulsion, Straightness.

SHOWJUMPING

An opportunity to train around a full course of show jumps with guidance from a professional coach who is able to break sections down and offer guidance on riding the course as a whole. Classes are based on height that riders wish to jump to ensure exercises are relevant.

CAVALETTI

Popular with eventing, dressage and show jump trainers alike, Cavaletti involves completing canter work over small (upto 50cm) upright fences on various lines. Cavaletti is designed to improve rhythm, coordination and cadence in the horse and is really good for any rider up for leaving the ground over these poles!

MINI JUMPING

For anyone who would love to jump but wishes for the fences to be a maximum of 70cm. Whether you are a less experienced rider or have a horse that is currently only jumping small fences this is an opportunity to have some fun around a course and some get tips to improve technique.

ARENA EVENTING

An opportunity to train in our large all-weather school kitted out with a full set of cross-country fences designed to ask different questions of horse and rider. Classes are based on height riders wish to jump to ensure exercises are relevant.

POSTURE AND POSITION

Open to anyone looking to develop their position and refine their application of the aids and influence over the horse.

MINI GALLOPS

Develop balance and lower leg security on a surfaced woodland track. A great opportunity to continue training out in the Hampshire woodland.

GRID WORK

This training involves developing canter work and jumping a series of gymnastic jumps in a line.  This will be of use to riders who are particularly interested in developing their own coordination and feel over a fence whilst gaining further understanding of their horse’s balance.
